Thomas Cecil Brown, “Brownie” of Lineville, Alabama and Clearwater
Florida, passed away February 10, 2008.

He will be forever loved, cherished and never be forgotten by his
Brother J. D. Brown, his Daughters, Mary Bailey and Rita Peck, Grandsons,
Steven DeJordy and Anthony Peck as well as the entire beloved Brown
family and Friends, who he loved with all his heart.

He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, wounded in action while serving
in the Navy during World War II, on the USS Sigsbee DD-502.

He was best known for his kind, charitable and forgiving heart and will
always be remembered.

Webmaster's Notes: Thomas Cecil Brown enlisted in the U S Navy July 3, 1943, at Anniston, AL, Service number 837 72 72. He was received aboard the USS Sigsbee DD-502 October 20, 1943, at Pearl Harbor, TH.  He received multiple wounds April 14, 1945, when the Sigsbee was hit by a kamikaze plane near Okinawa. Thomas C. Brown was awarded the Purple Heart at ceremonies conducted aboard the USS Sigsbee DD-502, June 6, 1945. During 30 months of service on the USS Sigsbee Thomas Cecil Brown increased in rating from S2c to MM1c. He was transferred April 2, 1946, to Receiving Station Charleston, SC for discharge. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughters Rita Peck, Mary Bailey and the entire Brown family.
